Anybody remember this guy?

We were first introduced to Mr Mears over 30 years ago on an unassuming BBC TV program called "Tracks". Subsequently, he stared in his own program entitled Ray Mears' "World of Survival". Building on this momentum, Mr Mears went on to create "Woodlore" his bushcraft school, equipment and skills company (https://www.raymears.com/).

In the proceeding years, Mr Mears went on to make several television series relating to outdoor skills, camp craft, bushcraft, survival skills and indigenous knowledge of environment and tool making/use. In particular, it comes across strongly that Ray loves getting hands on with local toolmaking skills. His passion for flora and fauna is also undeniable and he has also made several programs exploring these interests.

Ray Mears is definitely one of our "secret" heroes, providing inspiration for all things outdoorsy and bushcrafty!

Nowadays, Mr Mears can still be found teaching his students on his ever popular bushcraft and skills courses, making keynote speeches and being generally, a "nice" guy. Please feel free to visit his website to learn more.
