Macknade Food Hall in Faversham Kent
Multi award winning Macknade Fine Foods has been in business since 1847. Through various incarnations, ranging from a hop farm to a now large food hall and cafe, Macknade has been serving the local community with high quality produce and services for over a hundred and seventy years.
Taking pride in their work, Macknade offer a wide range of (if possible) locally sourced produce such as fruit and veg, cold cuts and cheeses, breads, jams and preserves, to more exotic fare such as genuine Italian, Spanish and French meats, cheeses and ingredients. Going even further afield, they also carry a selection of Oriental and South East Asian ingredients and preserves. They stock quite a few items that otherwise would be difficult to source locally.
Their business premises are roughly divided into four sections. A large fruit and vegetable hall, a traditional butcher, a delicatessen counter, a large cafe and the most recent addition, a florist.
However, Macknade is not all just about food. They also host a wide range of communal activities such as mother and toddler groups, reading groups for kids, yoga classes and more. Additionally, they frequently organise and take part in, a range of charitable activities including "fun runs", dress up days, raffles and more. Giving back to the community in this manner makes Macknade allright by us!
